On 10th December, 1915,  12th Division moved to the Givenchy sector where they were to remain until the middle of the following year. At the beginning of January, 1916, 35 Brigade were in reserve with 9th Essex at Hingette. On 9th January they moved to Yorre and from there went into the line east of Givenchy where there was a considerable amount of shelling by both sides. Private Wild died of wounds on 13th January but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded.
